Mediterranean beaches. Modernist architecture. Diverse nightlife. For many foreigners, these are the most famous images of Spain. But last year, when a friend and I prepared to move U.S. to a village in the mountains of Jaén, we knew that our first English experience would not be very stereotypical.
Six months ago we arrived at our new home, La Puerta de Segura, a government scholarship to teach English. Officially we are teaching assistants, but in our spare time we decided to record a web series based on our experiences here. Village was born, a bilingual project that mixes reality and fiction to tell the story of an American adapting to an Andalusian village. We spent the last year filming and riding events and will be released online in May. Until then we interview the key players (below) and a blog with more photos, videos and news.
